CommBox Intelligent Display Gen 2 — All sizes (43", 55", 65", 75", 86", 98")
Step 1: No picture and no sound If you see a blank screen with no sound at all, follow these steps:
- Check that the display is turned on — look for the power indicator light on the front.
- Confirm all signal cables are firmly plugged in at both ends.
- Make sure the input source selected on the display matches the device you have connected. Press the INPUT button and choose the correct source (e.g., HDMI 1, USB Type-C).
- If you are using a built-in PC mode, make sure the internal computer is also powered on.
Step 2: Picture but no sound (or sound but no picture) If you have partial audio or video, the issue is usually a cable or settings problem:
- Double-check that all signal cables are securely connected.
- Make sure no other electronic devices or power tools are sitting close to the display, as these can cause interference.
Step 3: Blurry, weak, or washed-out image If the picture looks dull, faded, or unclear:
- Go to the display's menu and adjust the brightness, contrast, or colour (also spelled "Colour" in Australian English settings).
- Double-check that the signal cable is properly connected.
Step 4: Horizontal or vertical lines / image dithering If you see stripes or a shaky image:
- Confirm that all signal cables are securely connected.
- Make sure no other electronic devices or power tools are placed near the display.
Step 5: PC Mode — signal out of range If your connected computer shows a "signal out of range" error:
- Check your computer's display settings and ensure the resolution is set to the recommended (optimal) resolution for your display size.
- Adjust line and field synchronisation settings in the display menu if needed.
Step 6: PC Mode — vertical lines or streaks
- Select "Automatic Correction" in the menu settings to let the display correct itself.
- If that doesn't fix it, fine-tune the clock and phase position settings in the menu.
Step 7: PC Mode — incorrect or missing colour
- Check that the VGA cable (if using VGA) is firmly connected at both ends and is not damaged.
- Go to the display menu and adjust the Colour, Brightness, or Contrast settings.
💡 Tip: If you're not sure which resolution to use, selecting the "Automatic Correction" option in the menu settings is a great starting point — it will do the adjusting for you.
Troubleshooting / What to Do If It Doesn't Work
- Display format not supported — select Automatic Correction in the menu, then manually adjust the clock and phase position settings.
- Colours look wrong after checking cables — try the display on a different input channel to rule out a cable fault.
- Nothing has worked — log a ticket on the Support Portal at support.commbox.com.au and our support team will help you out.
