How to Set or Change the Password for Screen Sharing Access
Secure your CommBox screen by setting a numeric or symbol-based password for screen sharing. This helps prevent unwanted connections—especially in shared spaces.

Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1
On your CommBox screen, open the CommBox Connect Powered by Eshare app.
Step 2
Tap the Settings icon in the bottom-right corner.
Step 3
Scroll to the Password Mode section.
You can configure two key settings:

Password Type

Custom Password – Manually set your own password.

Auto Password – Eshare will generate a random password automatically.

None – Disables password protection. (⚠️ Not recommended for shared environments.)

Password Refresh Interval
Choose how often an auto-generated password changes:-
Disable – Password stays the same

10 minutes

30 minutes
-
1 hour
-
1 day

💡 Important: Passwords can only contain numbers or symbols. Letters are not supported.
Step 4
To set a Custom Password:

Tap into the password field

Enter your numeric or symbol-based password (e.g.
123456
or#445!8
) -
Tap OK
Step 5
When participants connect to the screen, they’ll be prompted to enter the password. Share this with your students or attendees as needed.
💡 Tip: Use Auto Password with a short refresh interval (e.g. 10–30 minutes) for extra security in busy spaces.
Troubleshooting / What to Do If It Doesn’t Work

Issue: Devices are connecting without being asked for a password.
Fix: Recheck that password mode is active and saved. Restart the Eshare app if needed. -
Issue: Users can't connect even after entering the correct password.
Fix:-
Ensure the password contains only numbers or symbols—no letters.

If using Auto Password, make sure users have the current code from the screen.
