Learn how to turn your CommBox Intelligent Display Gen 2 on and off correctly to keep it running smoothly.
Applies To:
CommBox Intelligent Display Gen 2 — All sizes (43", 55", 65", 75", 86", 98")
Step 1: Connect the power supply Locate the power socket on the back of the display (labelled "Power supply") and plug in the power cable. Make sure the cable is firmly connected.
Step 2: Turn on the Power Switch Find the Power Switch on the back of the display. Flip it to the "I" position to power on the display. The power indicator light on the front of the unit will light up.
Step 3: Wake the display from energy-saving mode If the display is in energy-saving mode, tap the power button on the front of the display once to wake it up. The screen will turn on shortly after.
Step 4: To put the display into energy-saving mode Tap the power button on the front of the display once. The display will enter energy-saving mode. This is great for short breaks between lessons.
Step 5: To enter standby mode Press and hold the power button for at least 2 seconds. The display will enter standby mode. The power indicator light will remain on but the screen will go dark.
Step 6: To power off completely Flip the Power Switch on the back of the display to the "O" position. This fully powers off the unit.
💡 Tip: During school holidays or extended periods of non-use, unplug the power cable from the wall to protect the display from power surges or lightning.
💡 Tip: "I" means power is on. "O" means power is off — just like on most electrical equipment.
Troubleshooting / What to Do If It Doesn't Work
- The display won't turn on — check that the Power Switch at the back is in the "I" position and the power cable is firmly plugged in at both ends.
- The screen stays dark after pressing the power button — the display may already be on but the screen backlight is off. Press the backlight button on the remote control to toggle it on.
- The display shuts down by itself — check whether sleep mode is enabled in the settings. Also, if no input signal is received for 5 minutes, the system will shut down automatically. Ensure your connected device is active and the correct input source is selected.
