Google Certified Mode: Customising your home screen

Adding and Removing an App

To add an app, open the all app launcher, then drag the app icon to your desired spot on the home screen. If you want to remove an app shortcut, simply long-press the icon and drag it to the "Remove" option at the top of the screen; note that this doesn’t uninstall the app. You can uninstall the app by dragging it to the "Uninstall" option at the top of the screen.

Add a Widget

To add a widget, long-press an empty area on the home screen, select "Widgets," and drag your chosen widget to a suitable position.

Wallpaper

Changing the wallpaper is another way to personalise your device. Long-press an empty area on the home screen, then select "Wallpaper" or "Styles & Wallpapers" from the menu. You can choose a wallpaper from your gallery, select a preloaded option, or download a new one to give your tablet a fresh look.

Further Customisations

You can also rearrange app icons and widgets for a more organised layout. Long-press an app icon or widget to drag and drop it to a new location. If you want to group similar apps, drag one app icon onto another to create a folder. This helps keep your home screen tidy and easy to navigate.

If you need more space, you can add additional home screens. Simply drag an app or widget to the edge of the current screen, and a new panel will automatically be created. You can then swipe between these panels to access your customised layouts easily.
