Applies To
Applies to: CommBox Interactive screens (touch-enabled) and CommBox Commercial displays (remote-controlled)

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Confirm what type of CommBox screen you are using

  • Interactive screen (touch-enabled): You can tap the on-screen keyboard with your finger or a stylus.

  • Commercial display (non-touch): You enter text using the remote control or by connecting a USB keyboard.

💡 Tip: If the screen does not respond to touch, it is likely a Commercial display (or touch is disabled).

Step 2: Open the Wi-Fi settings menu

If you are using a remote control (Commercial display):

  1. Press the Menu (or Home) button on the remote to open the sidebar or main menu.

  2. Use the arrow keys (Up/Down/Left/Right) to highlight Settings.

  3. Press OK/Enter.

If you are using touch (Interactive screen):

  1. Tap Settings from the home screen or side menu.

Step 3: Go to Wi-Fi and select your network

  1. Open Network Settings.

  2. Choose Wi-Fi.

  3. Highlight (or tap) your Wi-Fi network name.

  4. Press OK/Enter (remote) or tap the network (touch).

Step 4: Enter your Wi-Fi password

Option A: Using touch (Interactive screen)

  1. Tap the password field.

  2. Use the on-screen keyboard to type your Wi-Fi password.

  3. Tap Connect.

Option B: Using the remote (Commercial display)

  1. When you select the Wi-Fi network, the on-screen keyboard usually appears automatically.

  2. Use the remote arrow keys to move across the keyboard.

  3. When a letter/number/symbol is highlighted, press OK/Enter to select it.

  4. Repeat until the full password is entered.

  5. Highlight Connect (or Confirm) and press OK/Enter.

✅ Important: There is no dedicated password button on the remote. Password entry is done using arrows + OK/Enter on the on-screen keyboard.

Step 5: Connect and confirm

  1. Select Connect.

  2. Wait for the Wi-Fi status to show Connected.

💡 Tip: This keeps the screen online for smooth updates, sign-ins, and wireless sharing.

Troubleshooting / What to Do If It Doesn’t Work

  • The on-screen keyboard does not appear

    • Re-select the Wi-Fi network and try again. Make sure you press the down arrow to make the password box selected. Once selected the keyboard should appear.

    • Restart the screen and repeat the steps.

    • If it still does not appear, connect a USB keyboard to enter the password faster.

  • You can’t select letters with the remote

    • Make sure you are using the arrow keys to move focus onto the keyboard first.

    • Try pressing OK/Enter once on the password field to bring focus to the keyboard.

  • It says “Incorrect password”

    • Re-enter the password carefully (Wi-Fi passwords are case-sensitive).

    • Use a USB keyboard to reduce typing errors.

  • Wi-Fi network does not appear

    • Move the screen closer to the router or check the router is powered on.

    • Restart the router and try again.

📌 If it still won’t connect, log a ticket on the Support Portal at Knowledge Base and include your CommBox model, your Wi-Fi network name, and what you see on screen.
