What to Do If Someone Uses a Permanent Marker on Your CommBox Screen
Accidental permanent marker on your CommBox? Don’t worry—here’s how to safely clean it without damaging the screen.
Applies To
All CommBox Screens
💡 Important: Ideally do not use markers on the screen, this can void your warranty
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1
Disable touch to avoid accidental inputs
-
Power down the screen
Step 2
Use the right cleaning method
-
Gently wipe the area with a microfibre cloth
-
Dampen the cloth with an alcohol-based cleaner
-
We recommend Isocol: www.isocol.com.au
💡 Important: Do not spray cleaner directly onto the screen—always apply it to the cloth first.
Step 3
Take care with Display Panels
-
If you’re cleaning a Commercial Display Panel, use a light touch
-
These models do not have hardened glass like the Classic or Atom range, so gentle cleaning is essential
Troubleshooting / What to Do If It Doesn’t Work
-
Marker still visible? Repeat the cleaning process with a fresh cloth and slightly more cleaner
-
Smearing? Use a dry part of the cloth to buff gently after cleaning
-
Streaks or residue? Finish with a clean, dry microfibre cloth for a polished look
