The CommBox OS home screen is the heart of the CommBox Classic S5. The CommBox OS home screen is completely customisable. You can drag your own shortcuts to apps, tools, and web links onto the home screen. The home screen has four components:
- Top tool bar
- Home screen widget
- Shortcut drop zone
- Swipe up menu
Top tool bar
The top tools bar shows you the day and time as well as the connection indicators and notifications of available updates. The connection indicators provide information about the CommBox’s network connection and hotspot status as well as if any USB devices are connected

Default home screen
By default, the CommBox home screen has 6 buttons for the main features available on the CommBox Classic S5 CommBox. These main features are:
- Browser
- Whiteboard
- Screensharing
- Store
- Help
- Files
Browser
Open the Chromium browser to view websites on the CommBox.
Whiteboard
Open the CommBox whiteboard application, where you can draw, insert images, change backgrounds, write, present and collaborate
Screensharing
Open the CommBox’s screensharing application, CommBox Connect, which allows you to connect your personal device wirelessly to the screen.
Store
Open the Store to see the list of CommBox exclusive apps and tools that can be installed on the CommBox Classic S5. More apps can be found in the Google Play Store.
Help
Open the Help app to get assistance using the CommBox Classic S5. The Help app has an online and offline mode so that you can access help no matter your internet connection.
Files
Open the files app to navigate through files saved on your CommBox, Cloud Drive (if you have connected it) or a USB stick.
