How It Works
Microsoft PowerPoint for Android uses the fonts installed in the app, not system-wide Android fonts. It does not allow installing fonts directly into the PowerPoint app the way you might on a desktop. However, you can still work around this in two main ways:
Option 1: Embed Fonts in Your PowerPoint on Desktop
If you're using a custom font, the best way is to:
Create or edit the PowerPoint on a Windows PC or Mac.
Embed the custom font into the file:
In PowerPoint (desktop), go to:
File > Options > Save
Tick Embed fonts in the file
Choose Embed all characters if others will edit the file.
Save the file and transfer it to your Android device (via OneDrive, Google Drive, or email).
When you open the file on your Android device using the PowerPoint app, the embedded font will render correctly — even if the device doesn’t have the font installed.
Option 2: Use PDF for Presentation
If editing isn’t required and the design matters most:
Open your PowerPoint file on a desktop.
Export it as a PDF (File > Export > Create PDF/XPS Document).
Open the PDF on your Android device using any PDF viewer.
➡️ This locks in your fonts visually, perfect for presenting without worrying about font compatibility.
⚠️ Limitations on Android
You cannot install custom fonts into the PowerPoint app itself on Android.
Fonts that aren’t embedded or substituted may revert to a default Android system font.
Some custom fonts (especially script or decorative ones) may not display or print correctly unless embedded properly.
