How to Quick Publish Content in CommBox Signage

Overview

The Quick Publish feature is useful when you have content in your Media Library that you want to get onto your screens quickly.

Using Quick Publish, you can select one or more media items and either:

• Create a new playlist using the selected content.
• Add the content to an existing playlist.

You can then assign the playlist to a screen or screen group as part of the same process.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Open Manage

Log in to the CommBox Signage Portal and navigate to Manage.

Step 2: Select Your Content

Upload new media or locate the existing media you would like to publish.

Select the media item you want to use.

Tip: You can select multiple media items if you would like to publish several pieces of content at the same time.

Step 3: Select Publish

Once you have selected your content, click Publish.

You will then be given the option to either:

• Create a new playlist
• Add to an existing playlist

Choose the option that best suits how you would like to publish your content.

How to Create a New Playlist

If you would like to create a new playlist using your selected media:

1. Select Create new playlist.
2. Enter a name for your playlist.
3. Click Next.
4. Select the screen or screen group where you would like the playlist to appear.
5. Click Save to complete the process.

Your selected media will be added to the new playlist and published to the assigned screen or screen group.

How to Add Content to an Existing Playlist

If you already have a playlist you would like to use:

1. Select Add to an existing playlist.
2. Use the dropdown menu to choose the required playlist.
3. Check the number of selected media items to confirm you are publishing the correct content.
4. Click Next.
5. Select the screen or screen group where the playlist should be published.
6. Click Save.

The selected media will be added to the chosen playlist and your changes will be published.

Why Use Quick Publish

Quick Publish reduces the number of steps required when publishing content from your Media Library.

Instead of navigating to your playlists, opening a playlist, adding the media and then publishing your changes, you can complete the process directly from the Manage section.

This is particularly useful when you have recently uploaded new content and want to get it playing on your screens quickly.

Troubleshooting

The Publish option is not available

Make sure you have selected at least one media item from the Manage section before attempting to publish.

The playlist I need is not listed

Confirm that the playlist already exists and that you have access to it. Alternatively, you can use Quick Publish to create a new playlist.

My content is not appearing on the screen

Check that the correct screen or screen group was selected during publishing and confirm that the screen is online and connected to CommBox Signage.
