Applies To: CommBox Classic S5
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Open the Device Settings menu
Swipe up from the bottom of the CommBox home screen to reveal the Device Settings menu.
Step 2: Go to the “Other” settings tab
Scroll across the top tabs until you find Other. Tap it to view advanced system settings.
Step 3: Find the HDMI EDID setting
Look for a setting labelled one of the following (may vary by firmware version):
-
HDMI Version
-
EDID Settings
-
EDID Mode
💡 Tip: If you're unsure, tap each option under “Other” until you find the EDID option.
Step 4: Choose your EDID mode
You’ll typically see these options:
-
Auto – Default mode that lets the screen select the best EDID based on the connected device
-
EDID 1.4 – Ideal for older devices that don’t support HDMI 2.0
-
EDID 2.0 – Enables full 4K at 60Hz for modern laptops and media players
Tap your preferred option to apply it.
Step 5: Apply and exit
The new setting takes effect immediately. You may need to reboot the screen for the change to fully apply.
💡 Tip: Restart your laptop as well if the screen doesn’t update right away.
