Configuring Touch Input for a Microsoft Teams Room with an Interactive CommBox Panel

Follow the steps below to configure and enable touch functionality on an interactive CommBox display used in a Microsoft Teams Room (MTR) setup.

Prerequisites:

  • Wired keyboard

  • CommBox interactive display connected to the MTR system

Steps:

    1. Connect a Wired Keyboard
      Plug a wired keyboard into one of the USB ports located on the front of the CommBox display.

    2. Access Administrator Account

      • Press the Windows key three times on the keyboard.

      • The MTR console (table touch panel) will switch to the user selection screen.

      • Select Administrator and enter the password: sfb

    3. Open Tablet PC Settings
      Navigate to:
      Control Panel > Tablet PC Settings

    4. Configure Touch Input

      • Click Setup under the "Configure" section.

      • When prompted with “What type of screen do you want to identify?”, select Touch input.

      • A message will appear on the CommBox display:
        “Tap this screen with your tablet pen to set it as the Tablet PC screen.”

      • Tap the CommBox screen with your finger, then press Enter on the wired keyboard.

      • When the message appears on the room tablet device, touch the room tablet display with your finger.

      • Press enter again on the keyboard to complete the setup

    5. Configure Pen Input

      • Back in the Tablet pc settings, Click Setup under the "Configure" section.

      • When prompted with “What type of screen do you want to identify?”, select Pen input.

      • A message will appear on the CommBox display:
        “Tap this screen with your tablet pen to set it as the Tablet PC screen.”

      • Tap the CommBox screen with the CommBox pen, then press Enter on the wired keyboard.

    6. Cancel Input on Table Touch Panel

      • The same message will now appear on the MTR table touch panel.

      • Do not touch the panel. Instead, press Enter on the wired keyboard.

      • Both screens will return to the Windows desktop.

      • Test the CommBox display to verify that touch input is working.

    7. Switch Back to MTR Account

      • Press Ctrl + Alt + Del and choose Switch user.

      • Select the Skype account and sign in.

    8. Verify Touch Functionality in Microsoft Teams Room

      • On the MTR console, tap Meet Now.

      • Tap Share Screen (bottom right), then select Microsoft Whiteboard.

      • Confirm that touch is functioning on the CommBox display within Whiteboard.
