What to do if an app keeps crashing on your CommBox screen

If an app won’t stop crashing on your CommBox screen, try these simple steps to force close, clear data, update, or reinstall the app to get it working again.

All CommBox screens running Android with CommBox OS:

  • Classic
  • Horizon
  • Atom
  • Intelligent Display
  • Commercial Display V4

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Force close the app

  • Go to the Setting app for the screen and go to the Apps section. Find the App and force close.

Step 2: Restart the screen

  • Use the main power switch on the back of the screen to turn it off, then on again.

Step 3: Clear app data

  • Go to the Setting app for the screen and go to the Apps section. Find the App and clear app data. 

Step 4: Check for app updates

  • Open the CommBox Store.

  • Tap the cogwheel icon in the top-right corner.

  • Check for and install any available updates for the app.

Step 5: Uninstall and reinstall the app

  • Uninstall the app

  • After the screen restarts, go to the CommBox Store and reinstall the app.

💡 Tip: Clearing app data removes saved settings or sign-ins, so only use it if closing or restarting doesn’t work.
