Replacing the Hub Board on CommBox Gen 2 LED Board

Learn how to replace a faulty hub board on the CommBox Gen 2 LED board to resolve display or connection issues.

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Identify the Faulty Cabinet

    • Inspect the display for abnormal sections such as black areas or persistent image errors.

    • Locate the cabinet containing the issue by referencing calibration numbers or visually checking.

  2. Remove LED Modules from the Cabinet

    • Use the front maintenance magnetic or suction tool to remove all LED modules from the faulty cabinet.

    • Set modules aside carefully to avoid damage.

  3. Disconnect Power and Signal Cables

    • Unplug the power cable and the FFC (Flat Flexible Cable) from the faulty cabinet for safety.

  4. Remove the Hub Board

    • Unscrew the 10 screws securing the hub board to the cabinet.

    • Carefully lift and remove the faulty 3-in-1 hub board.

  5. Install the New Hub Board

    • Place the new hub board into the cabinet, aligning it correctly with mounting holes and connectors.

    • Secure it with the 10 screws removed earlier.

  6. Reconnect Cables

    • Reconnect the power cable and signal FFC cable firmly to the new hub board.

  7. Reinstall LED Modules

    • Align and gently press each LED module back into its original position, matching calibration numbers for uniform brightness and colour consistency.

  8. Test the Screen

    • Power on the screen; verify that the display area previously showing issues now displays normally.

Troubleshooting / What to Do If It Doesn’t Work

  • Screen Section Still Not Displaying Correctly: Double-check hub board connections and ensure cables are seated securely.

  • Modules Not Lighting Up After Replacement: Confirm proper orientation of LED modules; reseat if necessary.

  • Persistent Errors or No Improvement: Consider replacing signal cables or contact support.

  • If problems persist, log a ticket on the Support Portal.
