How to Use Microsoft OneNote on Your CommBox S5 Screen

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1

Connect to Wi-Fi
Before you begin, make sure your CommBox S5 is connected to the internet.

  • Tap the Settings icon on the home screen

  • Select Network & Internet > Wi-Fi

  • Choose your network and enter your password

💡 Tip: A stable internet connection ensures smooth app downloads and syncing.

Step 2

Open the Google Play Store

  • Tap the Apps icon on the home screen

  • Open the Google Play Store

  • Sign in with a Google account if prompted

Step 3

Search for Microsoft OneNote

  • In the Play Store search bar, type Microsoft OneNote

  • Tap on the official app by Microsoft Corporation

  • Tap Install to download it to your CommBox S5

💡 Tip: You can also install other useful Microsoft apps like Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Teams for full productivity.

Step 4

Open OneNote and Sign In

  • Once installed, tap Open

  • Tap Sign In

  • Enter your Microsoft email address or phone number

  • Tap Next

  • Enter your password and tap Sign In

💡 Tip: Connect a USB or Bluetooth keyboard if you prefer physical typing over the on-screen keyboard.

Step 5

Stay Signed In (Optional)
If you're using a personal or staff-only screen, tick ‘Keep me signed in’ to stay logged in.
⚠️ Note: Avoid this on shared classroom or meeting room screens.

Alternative Option: Use OneNote in the Browser

If you don’t want to download the app, you can access OneNote online.

  • Open the Browser from the home screen

  • Visit www.onenote.com

  • Tap Sign In and follow the same steps to log in to your Microsoft account

Troubleshooting / What to Do If It Doesn’t Work

  • Can't access the Play Store? Check your Wi-Fi connection and ensure you’re signed into a Google account

  • App won’t open? Try restarting the CommBox S5 or reinstalling OneNote

  • Touch not responding in OneNote? Reboot the screen or test with another app
