How to Get Sound Working When Screen Sharing to a CommBox Screen
Learn how to ensure audio plays through your CommBox screen when wirelessly casting from your device using CommBox Connect Powered by Eshare.
Applies to: Classic V3, Classic V3X, Atom, Commercial Display V4
Step 1
Check that your device volume is turned up and not muted.
Step 2
Make sure your CommBox screen volume is turned up using the remote or on-screen controls.
Step 3
When casting, ensure you're using the correct casting mode:

Full Screen or App Window casting supports audio.

Extended Screen casting may not transfer sound by default.
💡 Tip: If you're using Windows or macOS, select the correct output device (CommBox) in your system's sound settings.
Step 4
If you're using a browser to cast via https://casts.app , make sure:

The tab or window you're sharing has active audio.

Your browser has permission to play sound.

You’ve joined the session using the full URL and entered the correct PIN.
Step 5
In the Eshare app, ensure that the correct screen is selected before you start playback.
Troubleshooting / What to Do If It Doesn’t Work

Issue: Sound plays from your laptop instead of the CommBox screen.
Fix: On your laptop, go to Sound Settings and change the audio output to Eshare Display or CommBox Display. -
Issue: No audio during casting from Chrome.
Fix: Try closing and reopening the browser tab. Ensure Chrome is updated. -
Issue: Audio works but is choppy or delayed.
Fix: Close background apps and ensure a strong Wi-Fi connection. Wired connections offer better stability.
