How to Get Sound Working When Screen Sharing to a CommBox Screen

Learn how to ensure audio plays through your CommBox screen when wirelessly casting from your device using CommBox Connect Powered by Eshare.

Applies to: Classic V3, Classic V3X, Atom, Commercial Display V4

Step 1

Check that your device volume is turned up and not muted.

Step 2

Make sure your CommBox screen volume is turned up using the remote or on-screen controls.

Step 3

When casting, ensure you're using the correct casting mode:

  • Full Screen or App Window casting supports audio.

  • Extended Screen casting may not transfer sound by default.

💡 Tip: If you're using Windows or macOS, select the correct output device (CommBox) in your system's sound settings.

Step 4

If you're using a browser to cast via https://casts.app , make sure:

  • The tab or window you're sharing has active audio.

  • Your browser has permission to play sound.

  • You’ve joined the session using the full URL and entered the correct PIN.

Step 5

In the Eshare app, ensure that the correct screen is selected before you start playback.

Troubleshooting / What to Do If It Doesn’t Work

  • Issue: Sound plays from your laptop instead of the CommBox screen.
Fix: On your laptop, go to Sound Settings and change the audio output to Eshare Display or CommBox Display.

  • Issue: No audio during casting from Chrome.
Fix: Try closing and reopening the browser tab. Ensure Chrome is updated.

  • Issue: Audio works but is choppy or delayed.
Fix: Close background apps and ensure a strong Wi-Fi connection. Wired connections offer better stability.
