How to freight a large 98" CommBox screen

Learn how to safely freight a 98" CommBox screen, from packaging to delivery, to protect your investment during transport.

Applies to: CommBox Classic S5 98, CommBox Meeting Room Display 98, CommBox Intelligent Display 98

Step 1: Use the original packaging wherever possible

The safest way to ship a 98" CommBox screen is in its original packaging, which includes:

  • Foam corner guards

  • Heavy-duty reinforced cardboard box with pallet base

  • Plastic strapping to secure the screen in place

Step 2: Palletise the screen

Always place the boxed screen upright on a sturdy, standard-size pallet. Ensure:

  • The screen is vertical (never flat)

  • It is centred on the pallet with no overhang

  • The box is strapped and shrink-wrapped securely to the pallet

🚫 Never lay the screen flat — this increases the risk of panel cracking during transit.

Step 3: Label the shipment clearly

Use large, clear labels that include:

  • “FRAGILE: SCREEN – DO NOT LAY FLAT”

  • “THIS SIDE UP” arrows

  • Delivery address and contact details

Label all four sides of the pallet so handlers see instructions from any angle.

Step 4: Use a sensitive freight provider

Choose a sensitive freight provider that:

  • Specialises in handling large-format AV equipment

  • Offers tailgate or forklift delivery options

  • Can provide tracking and insurance

💡 Tip: Inform the freight provider that this is a 98" screen requiring vertical-only transport and unloading.

Step 5: Receive and inspect the screen

When the screen arrives:

  1. Inspect the box for any damage before signing the delivery docket

  2. Take photos of the packaging before opening

  3. Check the screen for cracks, dents, or damage

  4. Report any issues immediately to the freight provider and CommBox Support

📝 Note the condition on the Proof of Delivery if there are any concerns.
