How to fix “No Signal” on HDMI input when CommBox Commercial Display is connected to VC bar

If your CommBox Commercial Display V4 (A8) (Model: CBDA8) is connected to a VC device and shows “No Signal” after restarting, this guide will help you fix it by adjusting the EDID settings.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Turn on your CommBox Display

  • Press the power button on the remote or display.

  • Wait for the screen to fully boot up.

Step 2: Check HDMI input

  • The display will default to the HDMI input after restarting.

  • If you see a “No Signal” message, continue with the next steps.

💡 Tip: This happens because the display defaults to HDMI 2.0, we have found to improve compatibility of the handshake to change the EDID setting to 1.4.

Step 3: Open the Settings Menu

  • Using your remote, press the Settings button.

  • Navigate to Input Settings or Advanced Settings depending on your firmware version.

Step 4: Change EDID settings

  • Locate the EDID option (may appear under HDMI Settings).

  • Change the EDID setting from 2.0 to 1.4.

✅ This ensures the display uses a more broadly compatible HDMI signal format.

Step 5: Save and reboot

  • Confirm the change and exit the settings menu.

  • Reboot the display and ensure the Neat Bar is powered and connected.

  • The signal should now appear correctly on the HDMI input.
