How to connect USB devices to your CommBox Intelligent Display Gen 2What question is your article answering?

Learn how to connect USB devices such as keyboards, mice, USB drives, and external hard drives to your CommBox Intelligent Display Gen 2.

Applies To: CommBox Intelligent Display Gen 2 — All sizes (43", 55", 65", 75", 86", 98")

Step 1: Locate the USB ports on your display The CommBox Intelligent Display Gen 2 has two types of USB ports on the back:

  • USB 2.0 — suitable for keyboards, mice, USB drives, and other standard USB accessories
  • USB 3.0 — suitable for the same devices as USB 2.0, but transfers data faster. Great for USB drives or external hard drives where speed matters.

💡 Tip: USB 3.0 is the faster option and is recommended for transferring large files. Both port types work with most standard USB devices.

Step 2: Plug in your USB device Connect your USB device (for example, a USB keyboard, mouse, or USB drive) into one of the USB 2.0 or USB 3.0 ports on the back of the display.

Step 3: Wait for the device to be recognised Your CommBox Intelligent Display Gen 2 should automatically detect the connected USB device within a few seconds. For USB drives and hard drives, a file browser or notification may appear on screen.

Step 4: Use your device Once connected, your USB keyboard or mouse will work with the display, and USB drives will be accessible through the display's file manager.

Troubleshooting / What to Do If It Doesn't Work

  • USB device not recognised — try a different USB port on the display. Also try the device in a different USB port to confirm the device itself is working.
  • USB drive not showing up — make sure the USB drive is formatted as FAT32, exFAT, or NTFS. Some less common formats may not be compatible.
  • Keyboard or mouse not responding — disconnect and reconnect the device. If you are using a USB hub, try connecting directly to the display instead.
  • File transfer is slow — switch to the USB 3.0 port for faster transfer speeds.
