How do I get apps installed on my CommBox Screen

This article will explain how to get Apps installed on your CommBox screen for each CommBox model.

Classic S5

There are three ways to get Android Apps installed on your CommBox Classic S5:

1. Via the Google Playstore

  • This option requires you to log into the Google Playstore with an Google Account to install apps. This is how you install third party apps like Microsoft Powerpoint on the Classic S5. 
  • If you can't see the Google Playstore in your list of apps on the Classic S5 this will be because your IT Manager has disabled it and does allow you to install your own apps. Reach out to your IT Manager for support.

2. via the CommBox Store

  • The Classic S5, only CommBox apps and tools are installed via the CommBox Store. If you want to update or install a CommBox OS Bundle, CommBox App or Tool you need to do it from the CommBox Store. 
  • If you can't see the CommBox Store  in your list of apps on the Classic S5 this will be because your IT Manager has disabled it and does allow you to install your own apps. Reach out to your IT Manager for support.

3. via CommBox Manage

  • This option is only available to IT Managers with access to  CommBox Manage. 

Note: Side loading of apps is not recommended for Cyber Security. If you want to side load apps, reach out to CommBox support.

Classic S4 and S4+

There are two ways to get Android Apps installed on your CommBox Classic S4 and S4+:

1. via the CommBox Store

  • On the Classic S4 you can install any apps from the CommBox Sotre. The CommBox store includes third party apps and CommBox OS Bundles, CommBox Apps or Tools. 
  • If you are having issues installing apps - read this article.

2. via CommBox Manage

  • This option is only available to IT Managers with access to  CommBox Manage. 

Note: Side loading of apps is not recommended for Cyber Security. If you want to side load apps, reach out to CommBox support.

Atom

There are two ways to get Android Apps installed on your CommBox Atom:

1. via the CommBox Store

  • On the Atom you can install any apps from the CommBox Store. The CommBox store includes third party app, CommBox Apps or Tools. 
  • If you are having issues installing apps - read this article.

2. via CommBox Manage

  • This option is only available to IT Managers with access to  CommBox Manage.
