Basic Troubleshooting for CommBox Gen 2 LED Boards

This article provides quick solutions to common issues experienced with CommBox Gen 2 LED boards

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Part of the Screen Is Black After Power-On

    • Check all power and signal cables inside the affected cabinet(s).

    • Re-seat both power and signal cables firmly.

    • Power cycle the screen by turning it off and unplugging for 10 seconds before restarting.

  2. No Indicator Light on the Power Button

    • Confirm that the main power cable is securely plugged into the wall and the LED board.

    • Check if the wall socket has power (try another device).

    • Verify that the rear power switch is turned ON (if present).

  3. No Image on Display When Using HDMI Input

    • Confirm that you’ve selected the correct input source (Menu > Input Source).

    • Check HDMI cable connections on both the screen and external device.

    • Try a different HDMI cable or port to rule out cable or port issues.

    • Test with another source device (e.g. laptop) to isolate the issue.

  4. LED Modules Show Mismatched Colours or Brightness

    • This may indicate a calibration data issue.

    • Follow the manual calibration readback procedure using LED Studio (see related article below).

  5. No Sound from the LED Screen

    • Press the Volume Up button to ensure audio is not muted.

    • Go to Settings > General > Sound Output and confirm correct output device is selected.

    • If using external speakers, verify audio cable is connected correctly.

Troubleshooting / What to Do If It Doesn’t Work

  • Still no power? Try a known working power cable or plug into a different GPO.

  • Display image still missing? Try using a different input source (HDMI 1, HDMI 2, HDMI 3).

  • Persistent issues with modules? You may need to reload calibration data via LED Studio.

  • If problems continue, log a ticket on the Support Portal.
